Ian Richardson
Local boy makes good, or villain
| The sad and untimely demise of the great actor Ian Richardson has been marked by thoughtful obituaries in many publications. But the death of the ex-Tynie schoolboy has perhaps not had the attention it deserves in his birthplace of Shandon Crescent. There is much excited talk of a blue plaque being erected on the wall of his former dwelling (an odd numbered house between 5 and 9!) and even a small museum (open Tues 7-9pm and Sun 10:30-12:00; admittance £7.50 adults, concessions £4.00). However, it seems that good old 'arry Park may certainly be in the running for an application for another commemorative tree and plot. You read it here first. |
