Same Old Buchan

Story with odd smell appears in 'The News"

Thanks to the mischievous reader who spotted this well planted little ditty in Edinburgh's very own Evening News. Now read on -

Vandalism link to poor lighting

RESIDENTS near the Union Canal have blamed poor street lighting in Harrison Park for antisocial behaviour in the area.
Locals have voiced concerns over the level of late-night drinking and graffiti.
They believe better lighting in the area would help discourage the antisocial problems and have contacted local Conservative council candidate Gordon Buchan to take lead their fight.

I must admit it does strike the editor as rather odd (as does the strange 'take lead their fight') that "residents" would take their beef to the wannabe Tory election candidate. You surely don't think this story is entirely bogus and has been concocted and planted by a supporter? What's wrong with a bit of darkness anyway? And who's going to pay for all this Tory extravagance? Why, you and me, hard pressed working families (© any candidate you like).

Besides, where's the young folks going to go late night drinking? Joined up thinking, that's what needed.
