Epilogue

My Dad's reminiscence was published on the Web in December 1997. He was very pleased to see it there and hoped that I would be able to ensure that it remained there for many years. He died in October of the following year after a heart attack at home, aged 80.

After the war he did his teacher training and taught at Lasswade High outside Edinburgh for many years, where he was the Head of the Technical Department. He eventually became Assistant Head of the school before retiring to enjoy travelling around Scotland, fishing and Scots fiddle playing.
